Different Shades Of Emotions Remember the Fox Tails we used to play with at Grandma's house?
Well, I found some on Casuarina Drive, and I haven't seen any for years
It kinda make me smile, thinking back to when we were children
But I was left with a bittersweet taste in my mouth.

And I grew up. Maybe too fast some would say
But I just did what I had to do, and I couldn't say who was to blame
(These suitcases I drag are getting heavy)
My skeletons hate me.

I rub my temples and I'm not looking forward to tomorrow
All I really want is to stay in bed
Not get up, and put some fake face on, and see people who don't care

fall makes me think of leaving and of apple cider, though i never liked apple cider.
but i liked the idea of it.

two years ago i met a boy as fragile as dead leaves, who called me his little spring girl. (i'd always liked autumn the best.) he kissed the two soft dimples on the small of my back and told me helikedme helovedme hewantedme.

on our one year anniversary we picked out two pumpkins and i drew elephants on them for us to carve. he cut his out so aggressively that it lost its shape.

why are you doing that? i like to make things.

i never understood why the girls in my classes didn't.

they liked to deface walls with scissors and whiteout
and lies (and stuff about jesus being black).
they picked at the stitching on their pencil cases until
the frayed edges tore, or the whole thing fell apart (and then they kept picking).
they carved chunks out of trees, shoe soles, desks
and each other. i never got why.

they looked at me like i was weird and a freak (it's okay, back then I was)
when i asked. just because they said. or i feel like it.
you feel like you have the words slut and whore

I'm going to download a GBC emulator and some GBC roms and I'm going to sit in my room in a plaid shirt with my hair tied up and uncombed and play video games on my two days off whilst drowning in a small puddle of self-loathing and self-pitty, and wondering what happened to my friends and why I'm alone.

With my phone switched off.

Because no one uses it anyway.

I do, sometimes. But mostly I either write poetry and leave it as is, or write for the purpose of turning that piece into a song.
